Free and compulsory elementary education for 6-14 years is the fundamental right of every child. The aim of elementary education is to fulfill the basic learning needs of all children in an inclusive environment breezing social and gender gaps with the active participation of the community. The elementary education is enabling the child to develop skills of literacy, numeracy and communication skills.

For this the need of trained teachers are imperative. Teachers can be trained systematically through a prescribed curriculum which will help them to guide the student of elementary education for acquiring requisite knowledge and skills.

The main objective of Agragati PTTI is to train competent and dedicated primary teachers equipped to it latest skill required for effective teaching-learning, to help trainees in achieving professional standards of work; to foster artistic, analytical and creative skills; to encourage personal growth and inculcation of moral and understanding.

With above objective Agragati Primary Teachers Training Institute was established in 2004 with affiliation of West Bengal Board of Primary Education and subsequently recognised by NCTE in 2009 by Agragati - a NGO.
