Few words about Agragati

Agragati is a non-profit making society founded in 1978 and was registered in 1979 under West Bengal Societies Act of 1961 (Registration no. S/26356 dated 19.10.1979).

Education is one of its major thrusts since begining. During its early life, it was mainly involved in the welfare of the local people. With the exposer to various organisations and other experience gained, Agragati has grown to be a non-government development organisation in the true sense ofthr term.

From its modest begining in a few villages at Amta, West Bengal it has extended its project area to Raruan Block, Mayurbhanj, Orissa and Mandu block, Jharkhand.

Its headquarter is located at Amta, West Bengal.

Establishment of PTTI

Agragati has always been interested inspreading education. Since its establishment, it has thought of trained teachers who can teach methodically in schools. As there was no Primary Teachers' Training Institute within the radius of 30 km. Agragati decided to establish a Primary Teachers' Training Institute at the request of local persons interested in education and unemployed youth willing to be teachers of Primary Schools. As such an Organising Committee was formed in a public meeting and Agragati Primary Teachers' Training Institution was establised by this Organising Commitee in the year, 2004. The Institute was duly recognised by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education in 2004.
